Your business mileage log, kept for you.

Claims worked out at HMRC's new 55p rate.

Every 100 business miles you forget to log is up to £55 you don't claim.

ODO logs every drive the moment your car connects. Mark it as business in one tap and export your log whenever you need it. Car on PCP? It tracks your allowance too.

ODO Business is free for 14 days, then £70 a year or £8.99 a month. Cancel before the trial ends and you won't be charged.

Miles you don't log are money you don't claim.

A notes app, a paper logbook, trips rebuilt from your calendar at tax time. They all depend on you remembering. Every trip you miss is up to 55p a mile you can't claim, and a patchy log is hard to stand behind if anyone asks.

If your employer still pays 45p, the rate has moved on. HMRC's approved rate is now 55p, and you may be able to claim tax relief on the difference.

ODO keeps the log for you. Your only job is to tap “business”.

From memory. Three drives, and a guess at each.
Logged by ODO. Every drive, with its purpose and claim.

How it works

The log keeps itself. The claim adds up as you drive.

For employees driving their own car, and the self-employed.

Logs every drive by itself

ODO starts logging when your car connects to CarPlay, Android Auto or your car's Bluetooth. On iPhone, a one-minute Shortcuts setup makes it fully hands-free, even with ODO closed. It only counts the car you choose.

Missed a drive? Type where you started and ended, and ODO finds the distance by road.

Business or personal? One tap.

After each drive, ODO asks. It suggests the purpose from your past drives to the same place, so a regular client visit takes a second.

Your claim, worked out

ODO totals your claim for the tax year at HMRC's rates: 55p a mile for the first 10,000 business miles, then 25p. The same rates apply to the self-employed under simplified expenses. If your employer uses its own rate, you can change it. (source)

A log ready to hand in

Export any period as a PDF with totals, or as a spreadsheet. Every trip shows the date, where from and to, miles, business or personal, purpose and the claim.

Car on PCP?

Your work miles count against your allowance.

Every business mile in your own car adds to the mileage your finance company checks at hand-back. Go over and you'll typically pay 5–15p for every extra mile. ODO Business tracks both numbers: what you can claim, and how close you are to your limit.

Same miles. Two numbers.

On pace or not.

Your allowance becomes a daily, weekly or monthly budget, with alerts at 25%, 50%, 75% and 100% of the year's allowance.

Where you'll finish.

After four weeks of learning your driving, ODO forecasts your final mileage. It only warns about an excess charge when one is more likely than not.

What to ask your lender for.

If you're heading over, Plan ahead suggests the yearly allowance to ask for. Changing it partway through is usually far cheaper than paying at the end.

Private by design

Your drives stay on your phone.

No account, no ads, no analytics, no tracking. There are no ODO servers holding your trips. Your drives live on your phone and in your own iCloud or Google backup, and nobody at ODO can see them.

ODO only uses your location during a drive. Your maps never leave your phone.

Questions.

For work drivers

Will my employer or HMRC accept the log?

Each trip records the date, where from and to, miles, purpose and the claim. Check with your employer or accountant how they want claims sent.

If my employer pays less than 55p, do I get the difference back?

Not all of it. You may be able to claim tax relief on the difference, worked out at your tax rate.

I'm self-employed. Does ODO work for me?

Yes. The same 55p and 25p rates apply under simplified expenses, and the log exports as a PDF or spreadsheet for your records.

My employer uses its own mileage rate. Can I change it?

Yes. Set your own rate and ODO works the claim out with it.

My car's on PCP too. Is that included?

Yes. ODO Business includes everything in Plus: your pace, the forecast and Plan ahead.

Everything else

Do I need CarPlay or Android Auto?

No. On Android, ODO can also start from your car's Bluetooth. On iPhone, automatic logging uses CarPlay. Without it, tap Start in the app or on a widget.

What if it misses a drive?

Add it by hand. Type where you started and ended, and ODO finds the distance by road.

Will it count drives in other cars?

No. It only logs the car you picked during setup.

How accurate is the mileage?

ODO measures by GPS and filters out bad readings. Add your dashboard reading now and then to keep the total exact.

Will it drain my battery?

ODO only uses your location while you're driving, and starts and stops with your car's connection.

Where's my data?

On your phone and in your own iCloud or Google backup. There's no account, and nobody at ODO can see your trips.

Every business mile logged.
Every PCP mile counted.
